The only one of its kind in the entire province, an all-candidates’ debate focused on post-secondary education was held at Wilfrid Laurier University on Wednesday, May 16.
Approximately 200 people attended the debate between candidates Zdravko Gunjevic (Green Party), Dorothy McCabe (Liberal), Dan Weber (PC), and Catherine Fife (NDP). CBC’s Craig Norris moderated the debate and posed submitted questions on topics like faculty renewal, investment in education, and fairness for contract faculty.
The debate was hosted by student, staff and faculty groups from Conestoga College, Wilfrid Laurier University, and the University of Waterloo. OCUFA staff also provided support prior to and during the event.
