Sheila has been the Executive Director of WLUFA since September 2009. As Executive Director, she monitors compliance for both Collective Agreements, responds to member questions, provides advice to the President and Executive Committee, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the WLUFA office. Sheila is the Association’s Grievance Coordinator, chairing Grievance Committee meetings and representing members of both Bargaining Units as a Grievance Officer. She has also acted as Chief Negotiator for the last two rounds of negotiations for the CAS Bargaining Unit and has been a member of the Negotiating Team for the Full-time Bargaining Unit since joining WLUFA. As Executive Director, Sheila attends CAUT Council twice a year. She also attends the annual CAUT workshops for Senior Grievance Officers and Chief Negotiators. She is a member of the OCUFA Grievance Committee, the OCUFA Collective Bargaining Committee and the Canadian Organization of Faculty Association Staff (COFAS).

Prior to joining WLUFA, Sheila was a lab instructor in the Biology Department, a position she held for 26 years. In addition, she has been a Contract Academic in Biology since 1983, teaching histology (the microscopic study of tissues and organs) to second and third year students and earning the inaugural CAS Award for Teaching Excellence in 2001. As a CAS member, Sheila sat on the WLUFA Executive Committee from 2004-2007 and served as a Grievance Officer during that time.
