Health Coalition Protest – this Saturday!

Sent on behalf of Kimberly Ellis-Hale, Waterloo Contract Faculty Liaison Officer:

WLUFA has been asked to publicize an opportunity for our members to oppose the Ford Government cuts to health care and to show their support for the Ontario Health Coalition. Please see their message below.

“We are working flat out to build the biggest possible events to levy political pressure on the Ford government to stop the elimination of local Public Health Units and ambulance/paramedic services; stop the cuts to long-term care, public health and our public hospitals; and stop health care privatization.

“We know that people from all walks of life, no matter their political party, do not support these cuts. But we have to get the word out broadly that they are happening and we need to provide a way to make the widespread opposition to the cuts visible and impossible to ignore.

“The government has appointed a “facilitator” to put a kinder more consultative face on the cuts, but they are still trying to force through the cuts. We believe we can stop them if we can build the resistance.”

There is a rally this Saturday in Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. Details are below.

Toronto: Saturday November 9, 11:30 a.m. at Nathan Phillips Square
