WLUFA & WLU Reach Tentative Agreement

Greetings,

The university and the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) are pleased to announce a tentative agreement on the renewal of the collective agreement representing 549 Full-time Faculty and 21 Professional Librarians. The current agreement is set to expire on June 30, 2020. The parties exchanged proposals on April 30th, and have been meeting daily over the past number of weeks. The parties have reached what they feel is a fair and equitable agreement, benefiting both the membership and the university. The agreement will be presented to the WLUFA membership and to the university’s Board of Governors for ratification. WLUFA is currently setting up times for remote meetings to discuss and ratify the agreement and an announcement on this will follow.

We know that the membership appreciates the work of the both teams in negotiating this tentative agreement under the difficult circumstances of remote communication.  Our special thanks and appreciation to the WLUFA team (Azim, Bruce, Glenda, Jeffrey, Joanne, Lianne, Sheila and Linda) for working so hard to bring us to a tentative agreement.
